Elements are basically trophies you earn while spending time in Virtual Reality on the Oculus Rift. In one case I mean that quite literally as you can receive decorative game boxes for the games in your library, or plaques for the achievements. There are also opportunities to earn more items and decorations to keep expanding the possibilities of creating a space that screams you.

How to earn elements in Oculus Rift

Each week you can earn new item packs, but you can only earn a select limit to ensure everyone's inventory grows slowly over time. This will prevent power-gaming so that you don't earn everything at once and then get bored of it.

When item pack achievements are earned you'll receive a cube. After you throw it to the ground and break it, your new objects and decorations will pop out. The achievements you earn this way will come in the form of objects and decorations that are added to the rest of your usual lists when decorating your Home.

Now, as mentioned above, two of the types of decor you can earn are through the actual games you play in the Oculus.

Plaques are earned from the achievements you have earned in your games.

Cartridges and Game Boxes are earned simply by owning games in your Oculus.

Adding earned achievements to Oculus Home

There are plaques you can decorate your Home with that you receive from the achievements you've earned playing your games! Now that you have earned your goods you want to show them off as soon as possible, right? Great, let's show you how to do just that.

  1. Open up your Oculus Home.
  2. Click the Menu button of your left touch controller to open up your editor tray.
  3. Select "Achievements".
  4. Select which Achievement you would like and drag it over to your Home. In order to select you must point at the achievement you want, and click the grip button.
  5. While moving your Achievement cards, options on your controller include "Put away", "Stamp" and "Move".
  6. If you want to put the Element away to use a different one, simply select "Put away". Please note, you can use multiple different Achievements to decorate your home.
  7. The "Stamp" option will not work when it comes to your game cards. All the stamp option does is multiply whichever item you are currently holding, which is something Oculus Home will not allow when it comes to your Achievements.

The plaques can be placed anywhere in your home, so go ahead and find a nifty way of showing off your hard work!

Using your Cartridges & Game Boxes

The boxes are used solely for decorating your environment, while the cartridges are actually playable from your Oculus Home! Oculus really laid in a bit on the Inception card, creating virtual reality inside of virtual reality. Weird, but cool!

  1. Open your editor tray by clicking the menu button on your left touch controller.
  2. From there go to your Library Items options. Here you will see a game box and cartridge for each one of your owned games.
  3. Grab the cartridge you want to use, and drag it into your Home space. In order to select you must point at the achievement you want, and click the grip button.
  4. Go ahead and close out your menu.
  5. In your Home space, you will see a desk that has a device that looks like an old NES system labled "Oculus" (pictured above). Bring your cartridge over to this desk with you.
  6. Place the cartridge of your game into the slot on the device.
  7. After you do this, press the red button and an Oculus Rift headset will appear. If you grab this and do the motion of putting it on your head then the game will start!

Decoration

If you want to just decorate your home with the game boxes to show off all the games you own that is entirely possible too.

  1. Open your editor tray by clicking the menu button on your left touch controller.
  2. From there go to your Library Items options.
  3. Select the game box you would like to place into your world.
  4. Drag the box into your Home and use your editing options to strategically decorate where it goes. In order to select you must point at the achievement you want, and click the grip button.
