One of the best aspects of using the Rift and Vive is how well they play together, and now there's a further update to Oculus Home that lets you run SteamVR games through it. The feature is still in a beta stage, so there are some bugs expected, one of which involves seeing Error OVR75318303 when trying to launch a game. Here's how to fix it so that you can get back to playing.
How to solve Error OVR75318303 when playing SteamVR games through Oculus Home
Due to the size of many modern video games, multiple hard drives are used for storage. If you have your Steam Games folder on, say, your D: drive, and your Oculus games folder is on your C: drive, you'll see the annoying error whenever attempting to launch a SteamVR game.
The fix, as you might have guessed, is to move both folders onto the same drive.
How to move your Oculus library to a different drive
If you have a rather large library of Steam games, you probably want to move your Oculus folder. There is a manual method that requires quite a few steps to complete, but there's also a more direct approach using a piece of software called vrBackupper.
From AOMEI, vrBackupper is a free tool that easily migrates your Oculus library. We've already written a step-by-step guide on how to use vrBackupper, so check it now to get started.
How to move your SteamVR games to a different drive
If you have a large library of Oculus games, you might instead want to move your Steam games over to a different drive.
Steam makes it quite easy to move games over, so you can leave your regular PC games on the drive you originally intended and just move your VR games over to the drive shared with Oculus.
- Launch Steam from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
Click Steam in the top-left corner of the window.
- Click Settings.
- Click Steam Library Folders.
Click Add Library Folder.
- Click the dropdown arrow in the drive field.
Click the drive that also contains your Oculus library.
- Click New Folder.
Click OK. The new folder will now be on the shared drive and you can move your VR games over.
- Click Library.
Right-click a SteamVR game.
- Click Properties.
Click Local Files.
- Click Move Install Folder.
Click the dropdown arrow in the drive field.
- Click the shared drive.
Click Move Folder.
That's it. The install will automatically be moved over as long as space allows. When you download games in the future, you'll be able to choose which folder you want to install it in.
