The second version of the OpenSource VR (OSVR) development kit is now available for pre-order directly from Razer for $399 (via Engadget). Announced just ahead of E3, the OSVR HDK2 packs a number of display improvements over its predecessor, which all combine to bring it more in line with the competition.

OSVR's second development kit is now up for pre-order from Razer

On the OSVR HDK2, you'll find an increased resolution of 2,160 x 1,200 on the OLED display, for a total of 441 PPI, 110-degree field of view and a 90Hz refresh rate. That compares well to the $799 price of the HTC Vive and $599 cost of the Oculus Rift. However, do keep in mind that Razer's offering is still in the development kit stage, and is quite ready for primetime as a consumer product just yet.
